SoBio II - Scenarios for optimal biomass distribution in the bioeconomy

The SoBio II project is investigating the distribution of limited biomass for various applications in a climate-neutral economic system. SoBio II is the follow-up project to SoBio, which ended in 2022. Based on the cost-optimising model “BenOpt” from UFZ Leipzig, the bioeconomy sectors: peat substitutes, construction and chemicals are integrated alongside the existing energy sector. Carbon storage options are also considered in all sectors.
