Statement on the amendment to the Greenhouse Gas Reduction Quota Act

At the end of 2020, the national implementation of RED II in the transport sector moved onto the agenda of the German government's legislative schedule.

Following departmental negotiations, the Federal Cabinet adopted a proposal for the further development of the GHG reduction quota law. It regulates the level of GHG reduction, possible options for fulfilment and their eligibility. On the basis of an initial draft bill, the DBFZ presented its position and clarified the effects of the proposed measures.
