Dr.-Ing. Sören Weinrich studied mechanical engineering at the University of Applied Sciences Stralsund and received his doctorate degree from the University of Rostock on the topic of "Practise-oriented modeling of biogas plants". As a research associate and project leader at the Deutsches Biomasseforschungszentrum (DBFZ), he has been working on model-based procedures for process optimization and automation of industrial biogas plants. His research includes simplified methods for balancing and efficiency assessment as well as development and application of suitable models for process monitoring and control. Since 2020, he has been head of the junior research group on simulation, monitoring and control of anaerobic processes at the DBFZ.
