Research & development
Applied research and development (R&D) in the field of energetic and integrated material use addresses the major societal tasks of "energy turnaround" and raw material turnaround in the sense of bioeconomy.
The DBFZ attaches great importance to the rapid transfer of its research results into applications. Technologies and methods should be implemented on the market and become innovations. The DBFZ has an innovation strategy to accelerate these processes. The versatile project portfolio can be viewed in the project database.
Competences
The DBFZ conducts applied cutting-edge research in the field of energetic and integrated material use of biomass. Five scientific research focus areas have been defined for this purpose. The aim is to be able to map important questions and aspects of bioenergy to the depth required for excellent research. To the research focus areas
Research projects
More than 120 scientific projects in the field of bioenergy and integrated material use are researched annually at the DBFZ. The extensive project portfolio will soon be available in our project overview. Download project list 2022 (german language)
Research infrastructure
In order to be able to deal with the diverse scientific tasks, the DBFZ has an extensive research infrastructure in the three technical areas of biochemical conversion, thermo-chemical conversion and biorefineries as well as modern tools for the analysis of biomass potentials.
